As the Deputy is aware, one of the eligibility requirements to participate on Community Employment (CE) is that a person must be in receipt of a qualifying payment from my Department for a minimum period of 12 months. In order to be eligible for Community Employment a person can work up to a maximum of 30 days in a 12 month period prior to application. The person in question is currently working one day per week. He has worked more than 30 days in the 12 month period prior to application and is, therefore, not eligible to participate on the Community Employment scheme at this time.
