To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if the phase 2 restoration works to a site (details supplied) will be considered as part of the recently announced Investing in our Culture, Language and Heritage 2018-2027 under the historic environment or built heritage investment programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The proposed Phase 2 of work at Maynooth Castle would, in the first instance, fall to be considered in the context of the funds recently announced in respect of Built Heritage.
The Office of Public Works (OPW) are currently working with the funding Department (DCHG) to identify where these recently announced additional resources will be allocated.
