The Law Reform Commission's Report Bioethics: Advance Care Directives (2009) was taken into consideration by my Department when developing the policy and legislative provisions relating to advance healthcare directives. The legislative provisions are in Part 8 of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015.
