440. To ask the Minister for Health if a review has been conducted of procedures for issuing medical cards to persons with cancer as per the programme for Government; and if so, the findings and recommendations of the review. [14127/18]

As the Deputy is aware the Programme for Government states that the Clinical Advisory Group on Medical Cards will examine the guidelines for the awarding of discretionary medical cards for patients undergoing treatment for cancer.

As the group was established by reports to the HSE, I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the HSE for direct reply.
