280. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the position regarding the deduction of payment to persons on community employment schemes as a result of two red alert days recently; the reason for the decision; if the decision for this sector will be reversed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The position is that no deductions of payment to persons on community employment schemes should be applied as a result of two red alert days recently.

Clarification and guidance issued to all DEASP officers and Sponsors during this last week.

Should any participants have any issues with this instruction not being applied they should refer to their local Intreo Centre immediately.

I trust this clarifies the issue for the Deputy.
