To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government when the report on the amalgamation of Galway City Council and Galway County Council will be published; the process that will follow the publishing of the report on making a final decision on the matter; when it is planned to proceed with the re-organisation of the electoral areas of the city and county for the local elections in view of the fact that these elections are due in May 2019; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The final report of the Galway Expert Advisory Group on Local Government Arrangements in Galway is expected to be submitted in the coming weeks,  following which arrangements for the review of local electoral areas will be put in place without delay.
