658. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the number of persons in receipt of the housing assistance payment in County Cork by local electoral area in tabular form at 31 December 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11354/18]

The Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) scheme is now available in all 31 local authority areas. At the end of Q4 2017, some 31,200 tenancies were being supported by the HAP scheme. This includes, 1,625 HAP tenancies in Cork City Council and 2,647 in Cork County Council.
A breakdown by local electoral area is not available.

To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the number of persons who have been transferred from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection's rent supplement scheme to the housing assistance payment scheme in 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) scheme is now available in all 31 local authority areas. At the end of Q4 2017, some 31,200 tenancies were being supported by the HAP scheme; 17,900 additional households were set up in 2017 and 3,185 of these were Rent Supplement transfers.
