202. To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the extent to which she maintains dialogue with the Irish Prison Service with a view to providing appropriate support for first-time offender juveniles on their release from prison; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9237/18]

There are no children detained in adult prisons. All children who have been sentenced to a period of detention by the Courts are detained in Oberstown Children Detention Campus. The policy to end children being detained in adult facilities has been achieved with effect from the 31stMarch 2017. In the circumstances, I do not need to liaise with the Irish Prison Service in relation to children.
