157. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality his plans to enable the Inspector of Prisons to have the ability to publish reports directly without seeking his approval first; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6594/18]

The functions of the Inspector of Prisons, including his or her reporting functions, are as set out in Part 5 of the Prisons Act 2007. There are no plans to amend this legislation.
