253. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will discuss with Iarnród Éireann the possibility of providing a morning train serving Thurles and Limerick junction to arrive in Kent station, Cork at approximately 8 am in view of the fact that the first train to arrive in Cork is the 9.30 am service and does not accommodate rail customers that begin work from 8.30 am; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
