Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for the administration of the community drug schemes; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.

To ask the Minister for Health the reason the recent announcement by his Department to reimburse FreeStyle Libre for children and young persons with type 1 diabetes excluded older persons; his plans to review this decision and announcement with a view to reimbursing FreeStyle Libre for all persons with type 1 diabetes as is the case in all other countries in which a FreeStyle Libre reimbursement scheme is in place; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
