To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to Parliamentary Question No. 501 of 23 January 2018, the amount of motor tax collected in each of the years 2015 to 2017 by county, in tabular form; the way in which the funds collected are redistributed; the way in which motor tax receipts are spent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Motor tax receipts for each licensing authority for the years 2015 to 2017 are set out in the tables below.
As of 1 January 2018, motor tax receipts are paid into the Central Fund and, accordingly, the redistribution of receipts is a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Finance, Mr. Paschal Donohoe, T.D. In this regard, the response to Question No. 163 of 23 January, 2018 refers.
