To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views on whether there is potential for Irish Rail to increase the frequency of service along certain rail lines, particularly those that are serving regular commuters and-or have seat shortages; and if not, the reason therefor. The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
