To ask the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 157 of 13 December 2017, if his departmental officials have examined the matter and provided him with advice following his receipt of the petition in favour of removing the inpatient day case charge for haemochromatosis patients; if he will now make a decision on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue of the application of the public in-patient charge of €80 for venesection in Acute Hospitals, as well as the broader issues in relation to the treatment of patients with Hereditary Haemochromatosis, is currently being considered in my Department.
