To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of learner drivers driving unaccompanied by a qualified driver that died in road traffic collisions (RTCs) in each of the years 2014 to 2017; the number of other persons that were killed in those RTCs involving an unaccompanied learner driver in those years; the number of persons that were seriously injured in those RTCs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have requested a report from An Garda Síochána in relation to the statistics sought by the Deputy and I will be in contact directly with the Deputy on receipt of a Garda report.
