1447. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to initiate a programme to stop deer roaming roads to prevent further fatalities, serious injuries and damage to vehicles; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1656/18]

Management measures in relation to deer do not come under the remit of my Department or agencies.
Appropriate road signage, including hazard warning signs regarding deer or other wild animals, is the responsibility of the local authorities.
