144. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he will report on progress implementing the recommendation in the interdepartmental report on fuller working lives (details supplied); the public sector employers with which his Department has been in contact on this matter; if in the context of his statement to Dáil Éireann on 20 June 2017 the review has been completed; the expected publishing date of the review; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In reply to the Deputy's question on this subject on 20 June last, I indicated that the review of issues relating to the compulsory retirement age in the public service which was being undertaken by my Department on foot of the report of the Interdepartmental Group on Fuller Working Lives was nearing completion and that it was expected to be completed by the end of that quarter.
That Review has now been completed. I am currently considering issues arising from the review and I intend to make proposals to Government in the matter shortly. Future policy in this area will be decided by Government.
