To ask the Minister for Finance if the Central Bank has undertaken reviews or investigations relating to the miscalculation of mortgage arrears in individual lenders or in the industry as a whole; the number of investigations that have taken place; the outcomes of those investigations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have been informed by the Central Bank that it has been advised of the introduction of some changes to the way monthly loan payments are calculated. The Central Bank advised me that it has been considering this issue, however due to statutory confidentiality requirements, the Central Bank may not publicly disclose much of its supervisory engagement with individual firms.
