To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the amount paid in each of the years 2007 to 2016 and to date in 2017 to housing authorities and local authorities for the provision of dwellings, including houses, flats, maisonettes and hostels by the authorities; the amount paid for the improvement or reconstruction of dwellings provided by the authorities; the amount paid for the acquisition of land for the provision of dwellings, by location, by year and in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information sought in respect of the funding provided over the period 2007 to 2017 is set out in the table.  The figures encompass funding for the provision of social housing by local authorities and approved housing bodies, including land costs, and also the funding provided for the full range of stock improvement, energy efficiency, adaptation and regeneration works carried out over the period in question.

The breakdown of the data by programme and by local authority over the 10 year period is not readily available, and its compilation would involve a disproportionate amount of time and work.
