My Department's budget for 2018 has decreased by 2% compared to 2017. In 2018, savings are expected to be achieved under the subheads Tribunals of Inquiry and Citizens' Assembly. Commissions of Investigation is also seeing a slight reduction in expenditure in 2018, following the completion of the Fennelly Commission's work in March 2017. However, a new Commission of Investigation headed by the Hon John D. Cooke commenced in June 2017, and provision has been made in the subhead for its continued running costs in 2018.

Funding for Diaspora Affairs projects is being transferred to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2018 from my Department's Vote.

Other restructuring occurred from the beginning of 2017 with the transfer of subheads for EU Engagement and Irish Personnel in EU and International Institutions from my Department to the Vote of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
