To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the number of child benefit applications awaiting processing for persons in County Louth; the length of time these persons have been waiting for processing of child benefit applications; and the average waiting time in respect of child benefit applications. The average waiting time in respect of child benefit applications is 3 weeks. The claim processing target for child benefit claims is 90% in four weeks. Claims are processed promptly, with the September 2017 output figures showing that 83% of claims were processed within four weeks.
