I propose to take Questions Nos. 1070 and 1072 together.

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for securing the provision of Public Service Obligation (PSO) public transport services.

As part of the public transport investment programme, my Department provides funding to the NTA for a rolling programme of bus replacement and refurbishment of the PSO bus fleet including the Bus Éireann fleet.

I have referred the Deputy's question to both the NTA and Bus Éireann for direct reply on the issues raised.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.

The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) in conjunction with Bus Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
