1037. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to provide a pedestrian bridge from the Ashington estate, Dublin 7 across the Royal Canal towards Broombridge Luas station; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that for a person to access the station it requires a three kilometre detour for a journey that could be only a few hundred metres in length. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority has statutory responsibility for the development of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA).
Noting this, I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.
