To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he has discussed with the newly appointed chairman and secretary of Bord na Móna their plans to invest €60 million in the United States of America which was brought to his attention by way of a Topical Issue in Dáil Éireann recently; the outcome of those discussions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have not discussed this matter with the newly appointed Chairman of Bord na Móna. As I stated in my response to the House during the topical issue debate on 28 September, there has been no formal request for Ministerial consent in respect of this project. Any request for Ministerial consent would be subject to detailed financial analysis by NewERA and policy analysis by the shareholding Departments.
