152. To ask the Minister for Health his plans to put all measures in place to reinstate nine respite care beds at a community hospital (details supplied) without delay to ensure that those in need of respite care can avail of same; if his attention has been drawn to the effect this is having on those who were scheduled to take up respite care in view of the fact they have been offered an allowance towards the use of alternative respite accommodation which is not suitable for many of the respite patients, mainly those suffering from dementia; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that the cancelled respite care at this hospital will also have an effect on the families of those who were scheduled for respite care; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
