To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the impact of multiple examination components on the performance of leaving certificate art students as compared with other subjects that have fewer components; the detail of the distribution of marks and grades in each of the four different components; and if his attention has been drawn to concerns that there is grade deflation within the leaving certificate arts examination system. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations.
