The person concerned applied for the state pension (contributory) on 25 November 2014. A mixed insurance pro ratastate pension (contributory) was awarded, with effect from 26 May 2014, back-dated six months from the date of receipt. A decision letter to that effect issued to the applicant on 2 March 2015. The pension is based on the person’s combined record of full and modified rate of social insurance contributions paid in Ireland.

In addition, the person’s entitlement to a pro ratastate pension (contributory) under EU regulations, based on their UK contributions, was examined. However, the person concerned does not have an entitlement to a pension of this type.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
