398. To ask the Minister for Health the reason the positions of two paediatric advanced nurse practitioners (details supplied) applied for by Letterkenny University Hospital as requested by an association have been turned down by the HSE and his Department; and if he will meet the association again to address its concerns at the decision. In June this year, I met with representatives to discuss diabetes services in the Northwest. Following that meeting, officials of my Department requested the HSE to progress a number of action points in relation to the provision of services for paediatric and adult diabetes in County Donegal, including the progression of two Advance Nurse Practitioners posts for Letterkenny University Hospital through the 2018 Estimates process. The Estimates 2018 process is ongoing and no final decisions have been made regarding the allocation of funding.
I have previously committed to a further meeting with the association and I look forward to arranging a meeting as soon as my diary allows.
