1994. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he will report on investigations his officials are undertaking in the rental market here; the number of registered landlords in each county; the number of properties per landlord; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not hold or collate the data referred to by the Deputy in relation to the number of registered landlords in each county and the number of properties per landlord.

The Residential Tenancies Board, through its tenancy registration system, collects information on tenancies and landlords.  The Clerk of Dáil Éireann has requested that arrangements be put in place to facilitate the provision of information by State Bodies to members of the Oireachtas. Following the issue of Circular LG(P) 05/16 from my Department on 20 September 2016, the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) has set up a dedicated email address for this purpose at .
