131. To ask the Minister for Finance the estimated amount of additional revenue that would be generated if the betting tax was increased from 1% to 3% and 5% respectively; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [35956/17]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that estimates of the amount of additional duty that would be generated if the rate of betting tax was increased from 1% to 3% is available in the pre-Budget 2018 Ready Reckoner at:

The additional revenue generated if the betting tax was increased to 5% would be €250 million on a straight line basis and assuming nothing else changes.
