795. To ask the Minister for Health the details of approved centres that have yet to comply with the mental health commission, in tabular form. [34351/17]

The Mental Health Commission is an independent body that was set up in 2002, whose functions are set out in the Mental Health Act 2001.

The main functions of the Commission are to promote, encourage and foster high standards and good practices in the delivery of mental health services and to protect the interests of patients who are involuntarily admitted. The responsibilities of the Commission include the establishment and maintenance of a Register of Approved Centres, and appointment of the Inspector of Mental Health Services who annually inspects mental health services.

As outlined in the Mental Health Act 2001, the Inspector of Mental Health Services visits, inspects and reports on every approved centre at least once every year. Details of these inspection reports, including compliance issues, are available on the Mental Health Commission website and contain the requested information.
