47. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if there have been further delays regarding the development of a school (details supplied); the way in which these delays can be managed to ensure the school is still ready for September 2018 in view of the significant delays already experienced by the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, earlier this week, my Department gave approval to Westmeath County Council to issue a letter of intent to award a contract for the project to which he refers. Subject to there being no issues with the preferred bidder complying with the terms of the letter of intent, the project should commence on site shortly. The contract for the project is 12 months and it is envisaged that the building should be completed for September 2018.
