The number of social housing acquisitions in 2016 was approximately 1,960, as reflected in the publication of the Rebuilding Ireland Third Quarterly Progress Report, which can be seen at the following link: .

While certain remaining details in respect of quarter 4 activity for 2016 are being finalised, approximately 1,400 of these acquisitions were by local authorities, with the remainder by AHBs.
