260. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government if he will address a matter (details supplied) regarding the use of coral sand to supplement income; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29209/17]

The Foreshore Act 1933-2011 defines beach material as, inter alia, "sand, clay, gravel, shingle..".  It is not lawful to remove beach material without a licence granted in accordance with the Act.
