228. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will direct the NTA to extend the deadline for an offer of a wheelchair accessible grant for a person (details supplied) in view of the fact that it has taken six weeks for the declined cases section of a company (details supplied) to provide the person with an insurance quote to allow them to purchase a taxi plate. The regulation of the small public service vehicle industry, including issues pertaining to the administration of the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Grant Scheme, is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013.

I have therefore referred your question to the NTA for direct reply to you. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days.
