To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the discussions he has had with the Department of Health with regard to the findings of the Public Service Pay Commission that retention is a key issue within the health sector with pay a significant factor; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The matters raised by the Deputy are the subject of deliberation between the management side in the context of pay talks which are currently under way with the relevant union side interests. The Report of the Public Service Pay Commission is to inform the pay talks process and it would accordingly be inappropriate to comment further on these matters.
