To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if consideration has been given to enhancing the capacity of the commuter rail network with particular reference to the need to ensure the availability of convenient and rapid commuter transport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the extent to which he has examined the rail services network in County Kildare with particular reference to the need to increase capacity at various rail stations thereby alleviating road traffic congestion; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issues raised are matters for Iarnród Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's questions to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
