My Department’s examination of the matter referred to by the Deputy, which is nearing completion, is detailed and involves all engineering, scientific, environmental and technical matters associated with the incident. In addition, the incident to which the report relates is also the subject of legal proceedings which have not yet fully concluded.

Following conclusion of the relevant legal proceedings the draft report will need to be the subject of final examination by my Department, and possibly further consultation with relevant Government Departments and State Agencies, before consideration can be given to publication.
