237. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the extent to which discussions have taken place with the various stakeholders with a view to resolution of difficulties which resulted in the closure of Harold's Cross greyhound stadium; if any or all of the issues raised have been addressed to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Bord na gCon is a commercial state body, established in 1958 under the Greyhound Industry Act 1958, chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry.
Bord na gCon has informed me that there were two separate mediation talks held and arrangements were in place to hold a third one however this was subsequently called off. A resolution of the differences between the parties has not been found to date.
