The Government has committed to spending €430 million on capital flood relief activities between 2016 and 2021 as part of the Capital Investment Programme. €57 million has been spent so far on the Programme which will advance up to 37 projects from the current Capital Programme, many of these to final completion during this period. In addition, many of projects arising from the Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management (CFRAM) Programme, which has investigated flooding issues in 300 areas throughout the State, will also be advanced in this period once a national Priority ranking list has been decided.
