In order to qualify for FIS the person concerned must be engaged in full-time remunerative employment as an employee for at least 38 hours per fortnight (19 hours per week). It is a further condition for the receipt of FIS that claimants cannot claim Jobseekers Benefit (JB) and FIS concurrently. The person concerned was awarded Family Income Supplement (FIS) from 2ndJune, 2016 to 31stMay, 2017.

On the 6thDecember, 2016 the person concerned applied for Jobseekers Benefit (JB), and this automatically stopped the payment of FIS.

FIS payments have now been reinstated for the person concerned and any arrears due for FIS during this period have now issued to their designated bank account.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
