To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the total number of persons currently employed by Tusla; the number of these who are social workers, social care professionals, psychologists, counsellors, nursing staff, education and welfare officers, family support staff, other support staff including staff caterers, administration staff grades 3 to 7 and management grades 8 and above, in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Child and Family Agency (Tusla) has advised that at the end of January, 2017 there were 3,616.02 whole-time equivalent staff directly employed. The numerical breakdown of staff by category is set down in tabular format below:
