286. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the legal fees incurred on FOI requests received by his Department; the staff hours involved in the processing of FOI requests for the past three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9676/17]

There are no legal fees incurred on FOI requests received by the department for the past three years.

Dealing with FOI requests form part of the duties of officials and the time spent on processing such requests are not monitored separately. In cases where search and retrieval time was more than 5 hours, fees are charged and the number of cases where this occurred is set out in the table that follows.
