547. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question Nos. 240 and 241 of 25 January 2017, if procedures for applying conditions to felling licences are to be changed following his investigation confirming unauthorised felling of oaks in a heritage woodland at Castleforbes, County Longford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Further to recent Parliamentary Questions with regard to the conditions of a felling licence issued for the named location, I can confirm that new procedures were drafted and have been implemented in the Department.

These procedures have been put in place to avoid any future conflicts between the contents of the felling licence conditions and the cover note.
