109. To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the final costs to the Exchequer of each commission of investigation that has been completed to date in her Department, in addition to the estimated costs to date of ongoing commissions of investigations. [7145/17]

Commission of Investigation into Certain Matters relative to the Cavan/Monaghan Division of the Garda Síochána | €1.784m | Judicial Review proceedings have been taken concerning the rates for third party legal costs for witnesses which were agreed for the Commission in accordance with Section 23 of the Commission of Investigation Act 2004. If this challenge is successful, it will involve revisiting the third party costs which was paid to the witnesses who appeared before this Commission. (If these proceedings succeed, the third party rates for the Commission of Investigation into the Fatal Shooting by An Garda Síochána of Ronan MacLochlainn may also have to be revisited.) |
