109. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the location a second level school currently in temporary accommodation (details supplied) in Cork City will be located to for the 2017-2018 school year; if he will provide an update on the provision of a permanent site for the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a site has been identified to accommodate a permanent school building for the school to which he refers and that the acquisition of this site is at an advanced stage.
Unfortunately, as the Deputy may be aware, commercial sensitivities apply to property acquisitions generally and I am not in a position to provide further details at this time in relation to the location. However, the patron body of the school in question will be informed of the proposed location as soon as it is possible to do so.
The Department and representatives of the school patron have agreed an approach in relation to the provision of temporary accommodation for this school for the coming school year and this is currently being progressed by the patron.
