To ask the Minister for Health when the HSE will consider including a new blood-glucose-monitoring system using skin sensors; when the HSE is due to meet the manufacturers of FreeStyle Libre; if he will provide an update on this meeting; if the manufacturer has made a completed application to the HSE for reimbursement of the device under the community drugs scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for the administration of the community drug schemes; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
