To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the widespread concerns in relation to the conduct of An Bord Pleanála regarding the approval of the planning application for the proposed North-South interconnector; if consideration will be given to the issues raised in correspondence (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Decisions in relation to projects of the kind concerned are a matter for An Bord Pleanála. Under section 30 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, I am specifically precluded from exercising any power or control in relation to any particular case with which a planning authority or An Bord Pleanála is or may be concerned.
