Officials from my Department and the HSE, including the NCPE, met with Philip Watt, CEO of CF Ireland on 30 November last. Officials provided a detailed briefing on the statutory assessment process for Orkambi and the negotiations that had been undertaken with Vertex to date. Due to the commercial confidentiality constraints applied by the company, the HSE was unable to share details of current pricing proposals.

I was pleased to learn that Vertex since has responded to the HSE with a view to re-engage in negotiations with them on Orkambi.
