219. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the case of a school (details supplied) which has applied to his Department under the additional school accommodation for primary schools fund for a parents room in the school; if he will acknowledge that the application has been received; the process for progressing the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that the school to which the Deputy refers has submitted an application to my Department for capital funding for the provision of additional accommodation. The application is currently being considered in the context of the competing demands on my Department's capital budget, imposed by the need to prioritise the available funding for the provision of essential classroom accommodation to meet demographic growth. A decision will be conveyed to the school authority as soon as possible.
